PROVISIONAL WORK PERMIT

The Bureau of Immigration issues the Provisional Work Permit. 


The foreign national who has a temporary visitor’s visa can apply while the (9G) working visa application is in process.


This work permit is typically legitimate for three months from issuance and can apply to a maximum of 2 applications.


The validity of PWP may reduce or ends upon the approval of the 9G or the 9D visa.

DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS FOR PROVISIONAL WORK PERMIT


Letter request addressed to the Commissioner from the petitioning company with an undertaking to withhold and remit to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) taxes due on all income of the applicant;

Duly accomplished CGAF for Work Permit

Any proof of possession of valid Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)

Photocopy of Alien Employment Permit (AEP) or the official receipt of the application for an AEP

For Corporations or Partnerships, photocopies of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Certificate of Registration

Articles of Incorporation

General Information Sheet (GIS) for the current year stamped received by the SEC

For Single Proprietorship, photocopies of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Certificate of Registration of Business Name

Mayor’s Permit

Photocopy of Employment Contract specifying the exact compensation to be earned by the applicant

BI Clearance Certificate

PROCESSING PERIOD

The processing time usually takes between 7-10 working days.





DENIAL OF PWP

Lacking Company Documents upon the submission of the application.

If a foreign national applied PWP more than twice.

VALIDITY

Valid for 3 months. 







APPLICATION PROCESS

Secure the CGAF from either at the Public Information and Assistance Unit (PIAU) at BI G/F Main Office or from the official BI Website.


Submit the documents for pre-screening to the Central Receiving Unit (CRU) or to the frontline officer or staff of other Immigration Offices able to process this transaction.


Get the Order of Payment Slip (OPS).


Pay the required fees.


Submit a copy of the Official Receipt.


Get the approved PWP
